Prof. Santi Trimarchi, MD, PhD is Full Professor of Vascular Surgery at Università degli Studi di Milano, and he is Head of the Vascular Surgery Unit at Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan (Italy). Through 30-years of career, his clinical-surgical and research activity focuses on the study and treatment of aortic diseases, including primarily aneurysms and dissections, but also of many other vascular diseases such as carotid stenosis, arteriopathies of the lower limbs and superficial and deep venous pathologies. To date he has performed more than 4000 operations. Extensive trans-atlantic experience has materialised through additional research and scholarly activities at Utrecht University, Holland; and Yale University, University of Michigan, University of Florida-Gainesville, and Harvard Medical School, USA. In the last 7 years he has been included as member in the writing committee of Aortic Diseases Guidelines by ESVS, SICVE, and the European Association Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) in conjunction with the Society for Thoracic Surgeons (STS).

Dr. Adam Power is a vascular surgeon and Associate Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Western University, Canada which he joined in the fall of 2012, and is involved in all aspects of academics and clinical care. Beneficially, Dr. Power also serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Front Line Medical Technologies Inc, a leader in innovative medical devices for trauma and emergency care that is committed to lowering the barriers in bleeding control and resuscitation. Dr. Power was instrumental in the development of COBRA-OS®, drawing on his unique clinical viewpoint and expertise to ensure utmost patient safety and assist with the company’s global expansion. Dr. Power obtained his medical degree from Dalhousie University, Canada, followed by his general surgery residency at McMaster University, Canada. It was during this residency that Dr. Power also secured a Master of Bio-Science Enterprise (MPhil) degree from the University of Cambridge, UK. He then headed to Mayo Clinic, USA for a vascular surgery fellowship to round out his training.
Joost A. van Herwaarden

Prof. Joost A. van Herwaarden, MD, PhD is Full Professor of Vascular Surgery and Head of the department of Vascular Surgery at the University Medical Center Utrecht (Netherlands). His clinical-surgical and research activities focus on treatment of aortic pathology, including primarily aneurysms and dissections. He has a special interest in new developments in Image-guided therapies. Since 2012 he has a close collaboration with Philips on the development of, and translation to, clinical use of Fiber Optical RealShape (FORS) technology. In 2018 he was the PI of the FORS first-in-human study. There is a longstanding collaboration for research on aortic pathology treatment with the Policlinico Università degli Studi di Milan, Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan) and the Vascular Surgery departments of the University of Michigan and Harvard Medical School (USA). He is an active reviewer of many peer-reviewed medical journals and was part of the writing committee of Aortic Disease guidelines of the ESVS, and of the 2023 Clinical Practice Guidelines on Radiation Safety (ESVS).
